End  US  violence  against  the  Iraqi  people. 

Bring the  troops  home  now. 

Reallocate  money  from war  to  human  needs: Protect  and  Expand  Social Security, Jobs, Health  Care, Education, Housing  and  the  Arts. Build  a  culture  of  peace.

1. LET US MAKE HISTORY!

Come on people, we can end this war!!!

3. We made history marching against the invasion of Iraq, remember?

We had the numbers. (I marched my buns off.)
Marching had no effect.
Hollow victories are no victory at all.

2. This won't have any effect

We tried this pre-Iraq, remember.
We must find a way to effectively boycott
rethuglican business. We ALL got to do it.
And we must do it till they break.
Marching does not work.

4. The same could have been said about civil rights marches

there were many in the African-American community that were opposed to the civil rights demonstrations fearing retaliation from the ruling class.

The purpose of a march is to show that we will not surrender to the Holy American Empire and that our support for the troops is limited to their immediate withdrawal from Iraq.

Besides, we will be right across the street from the Republican Columbia Club, and our chants for peace will spoil their martinis.

6. If there had been NO marches against Vietnam war it would still be ON

too.

Gotta start somewhere and lots of places too and keep the pressure and visibility up. Consistency and persistence.

Ok so the biggest pre-emptive protest ever in Feb of 2003 did not stop the invasion and disastrous occupation of Iraq. So just give up? I'm sure Bu$h would be happy for us to give up.

5. Rallies are a way to "Vote early, Vote often,"

in my opinion. I believe in standing up and making myself heard as often as possible. There are those that are watching us, and now is not the time to quit. Even some of the Republicans are now calling for us to get out of Iraq now. Let's support this idea!

7. Just a kick

To mention that a bunch of us are coming down from South Bend. One bus for sure from ND and several of us are driving our cars too. Not sure how many yet. Hope to meet some of you there.
