WASHINGTON -- Despite Indiana's solid Republican voting record in presidential races, the state has had more competitive congressional races in the last two elections than any other state.
And the outlook is much the same for 2006.
At least two of the state's seven Republican House members -- Rep. John Hostettler, R-Wadesville, and Rep. Mike Sodrel, R-New Albany -- are considered to be among the most vulnerable GOP incumbents in the country.
And Rep. Chris Chocola, R-Bristol, also makes some political handicappers' lists of the few dozen congressional races where the outcome is not already essentially determined.
