Where the Dem contributors are - NOT where I would have thought
I was just looking at this chart to see what counties had what percentage of contributors to Federal candidates and I was surprised by what I found out.

Monroe County - (Bloomington) favors Republicans 55% to 45%.

while Grant County (Marion!?) favors Democrats 72% to 28%.

another Democratic County is Putnam (with Depauw) with 84% to 16%.

Sadly - there are 6 counties with 100% contributions for Republicans. If anyone wants to see how it shakes out - or how your county leans - check out the page:

1. Putnam county - that's weird
but good for my Congressional candidate, so I'll take it.

My county, Vigo - 41% Democratic? That makes no sense...

Clay - 57% Democratic
Parke - 16% Democratic (no shock there)
Sullivan - 9% Democratic
Vermillion - 5% Democratic

And yet this is supposedly a Democratic corner of Indiana - guess not so much.

2. Of course - it speaks about money and not votes
But it seems like there must be more going on in Marion than the The Wesleyan University.

3. I am surprised by that (Putnam County) as well
the U. always seemed to have little influence on the community (DePauw is a small school.) Would have expected a greater disparityin donations in Monroe County (Bloomington/IU) than Putnam County. Very intersting...
