The planters are maintained by the city's Business Improvement District, a group of local business owners that for years has have organized volunteers to weed each of the 130-plus planters. That work, however, did not catch the marijuana plant that Officer John Butcher found Monday night.
Chief of Detectives Adam Klimczak said the marijuana was likely planted on purpose, but he had no idea who might have done it. Butcher pulled the plant and took it to the police station, where it was destroyed.
... stories like this always make me wonder just exactly HOW the authorities 'destroyed' the offending plant(s) when they seize them. Hypocrites. :smoke:
