Blacks favor Daniels' work over Bush's
Approval ratings buck trend of same-party governors, presidents who fare similarly

By Theodore Kim

Black Indianapolis-area residents approve of the job Gov. Mitch Daniels is doing at a far higher rate than they do for President Bush, according to a new poll.

Indiana Republicans attribute Daniels' relatively strong showing to party-building efforts, but the findings vexed other observers who note the pair's strong political ties.

Forty-one percent of black residents in the nine-county area said they approved of Daniels' job performance, according to a joint poll by The Indianapolis Star and Indianapolis Recorder. By contrast, 13 percent said they supported the job Bush has done.

41% approve, which means 59% DISAPPROVE. Not exactly clear about the fact that he's still firmly in the shitter, were they ?

1. That is so annoyingly typical.
Having a higher approval rating than * at this point is nothing to brag about. An inanimate object would poll higher than * at this point. :eyes:

2. This type of "news" reminds me
of a cold-war report in Pravda about an auto race between an American
car and a Russian built car in which the American car won. How did
Pravda describe the results? The Russian car placed second and the
American car came in next to last.
Having been a reader of the Indianapolis Star for over 60 years this
type of "reporting" is to be expected. They are now and have always
been an extension of the Republican party both on the editorial page
and in the "news" columns. I don't expect them ever to change. They
reached bottom in the 1968 primary election and have hardly climbed out
of that position since.

3. I read the star for the same reason I watch Fox News...

For the discourse analysis. It provides a clue as to the mainstream within rightwing the chatterbox. The fact that they have a "Bayh Watch" like he's a fucking hurricane is telling. Appeasment democrats scare their ankle length denim skirts off, maybe their beehives too.
