1. be vewwy, vewwy quiet.
We're hunting republicans!!!!

I am glad that our district hasn't captured national attention - yet.

I think Hayhurst is doing well, and will continue to do so if outside money doesn't start pouring in to help his opponent.

2. Ok..You know I was really thinking about this the other day and you do
have a very good point..I think the same thing holds true in the 6th district..I think there have been some internal polls taken but no one is talking...I am so optimistic !!
By the way I saw the Hayhurst for Congress ad a few minutes ago and gotta say I was impressed..

3. polls for district 3
Well, that took some searching, but I did find out this...the RNCC are shelling out $8,200.00 for a poll on District 3. Is it a crack in their confidence in Souder? I also read that students at Manchester tried to poll 1,000 people to get an opinion on District 3 in Whitley County but actually only contacted 171 (apparently most people thought the calls were telemarketers). Regardless, the results were something in the range of Souder 59%, Hayhurst 34%, with 7% undecided. I don't know the plus or minus or how scientific it is...I'm a little surprised at how Souder was ahead but who knows. I can say this...in Fort Wayne, the streets are solidly Green and Black with Hayhurst signs.

4. I don't think the spread would be that high
If the poll was just a few hundred(171 voters ?) than the plus or minus factor would be very high..I am just going by what I hear from people around the district..Even some Republicans are rooting for Hayhurst,,I had to laugh at a radio ad I heard today..Souder talks about the longivity of some possible Speakers if the Democrats win.It didnt seem to be a well written ad and I thought if that is the best they have to offer than I really think we have a chance..Keep in mind that Hayhurst's fund raising has gone well and the last I looked he was actually ahead of Souder in that dept...I'm being optimistic because I think he can win and it may be that "sleeper" district where the Repubs arent really paying attention to..But like the second DUer said in the 2nd post of this thread..
SHshshsssssssssssssss!! we don't want to attract national attention to keep the RNC from pouring money into this district...
Steuben county is where Democrats would have a hard time getting the vote.

5. Agreed
There is an out pouring of respect for Dr. Hayhurst, there has been extreme silence by the Souder supporters. I also wanted to add to my response regarding the poll from the RNCC. I read in the Journal Gazette that this poll is actually a push poll...with questions like this: "Will you vote for Dr. Hayhurst, even though he is for abortion and giving amnesty to all illegal immigrants?" Should we be surprised by the RNCC's choice of polls?

6. The Journal is owned by Knightrider a repub rag..so we won't get any
breaks.I think Indiana needs some great victories like I see coming. Perhaps it will wake up some (not all of course) central committees and start replacing some County Democratic chairman that have been sitting on their hands and increase our efforts towards building a solid State party organization.
I think Governor Dean has lit the fire but its up to the state party to supply the fuel...

7. DCCC's emerging races
Don't look know (or please do), but Dr. Hayhurst has been added to the DCCC's emerging races...
