We're organizing "We can't afford to wait" vigils nationwide just days before members of Congress return to Washington, to make sure they know that an overwhelming majority of voters are counting on them to act quickly to pass health care reform.

Description Come to this vigil if you'd like to hear from - and support - your friends, co-workers, neighbors and others who have lost their homes, been driven into bankruptcy or simply cannot get the care that they need. It's time to remember what this conversation is really about ... and to put the acrimony and partisanship aside for just one evening. We want to bring the discussion back to the real focus of the problem - nearly 50 million Americans who don't get preventive care (such as mammograms or prostate cancer screening), and who can't go anywhere besides the emergency room, along with tens of millions of other Americans who are insured, but who must choose between paying for the health care that they and their families need, versus paying their mortgages or putting food on the table. The purpose of the vigil is not to support any specific solution, but simply to refocus attention on the depth and seriousness of the problem.
