Posted: January 18, 2010The Dalai Lama’s springtime visit to Indiana will include a public lecture at Conseco Fieldhouse on facing challenges with compassion and wisdom, according to local Buddhist leaders.
The Dalai Lama’s May 14 lecture, aimed for broader public consumption, will follow two days of Buddhist religious teachings in Bloomington. General admission costs for the lecture are $25. Students can see it for $15. They are on sale through Ticketmaster and the Conseco Fieldhouse box office.
This will mark the Dalai Lama’s sixth visit to Indiana but only his second public appearance in Indianapolis. He appeared before a crowd of 4,400 at Market Square Arena in 1999.
The Dalai Lama’s religious teachings in Bloomington will cover the “Heart Sutra.” Tickets for that event are available through Ticketmaster for $32 a session. The Indiana University Auditorium is offering $90 packages for the three Bloomington teachings. Additional ticket fees apply.
