Terre Haute - A Holocaust survivor who lives in Terre Haute is leading a group of 51 people on a trip to the Nazi concentration camp where she and her family were imprisoned.
Eva Kor planned the trip to mark the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by Allied troops. The group left Terre Haute on Saturday for the weeklong trip, which includes tours of the Auschwitz camp and of historic sites in Krakow, Poland.
Kor's family was taken to the death camp near the end of World War II. She and a twin sister survived being subjected to Nazi experiments, but their parents and two older sisters died there.
Kor later founded the CANDLES Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute. The tour group includes Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett and several teachers.
