FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Area fishermen and fishing businesses fear President Obama is considering a ban on recreational fishing.

President Obama's Ocean Policy Taskforce recently released recommendations on how to improve the health of oceans, coasts, and lakes. According to some - including lawmakers like Congressman Mark Souder - those recommendations leave the door wide open to a ban on recreation fishing. All of that put together has created a lot of fear and outrage in the fishing industry.

When I first heard it, I said, 'man, this can't be real," said Mike Reuille, owner of the Northside Bait & Tackle shop on Sherman Ave. "I think if they come in here and try to take the fishing out, you're going to have a riot!"

Pat White, afternoon right wing WOWO radio talk jock spent a half hour on the ESPNOutdoors article that started this. ESPN's outdoors editor semi-retracted the semi-factual article and semi-apologized for it.

You'd think a Bible thumper like Souder would have problems with obvious lies, guess not. Ignore "Thou shall not lie." and burn in hell for eternity. "Thou shall not lie about fish stories." probably gets you a pass from God.

Goodness gracious, no! He lies practically every time he opens his mouth. Although I think he believes what he's saying so that makes it, technically anyway, not a lie.
