Absentee voting starts for Indiana primary
Updated: Apr 05, 2010 3:02 PM EDT
Indianapolis - Absentee voting for Indiana's May 4 primary has started.
Eligible voters can cast an absentee ballot in-person, with a federal or Indiana issued photo ID, before Election Day at their county clerk's office or a satellite location if available until May 3 at noon local time.
Some can cast an absentee ballot by mail. A voter must have a reasonable expectation of being out of the county on Election Day or being scheduled to work at their job during the 12 hours the polls are open. There are others who qualify.
Eligible voters must fill out an application and have it faxed, delivered or mailed to their county election board office by April 26. If approved the board will mail the absentee ballot to the voter to complete and return.
