Daniels fills key govt posts with business leaders
Mickey Maurer, co-owner of the Indianapolis Business Journal "will serve as president of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. for $1 a year." http://www.indystar.com/articles/3/199734-9903-092.html

Joel Silverman, former Galyans CEO, will head up the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. http://www.indystar.com/articles/9/199733-3069-009.html

Mitch Daniels, who has little government experience, is surrounding himself with business leaders who have even less experience. This should be a long four years.

1. It's already long.
I wake up every day a think I've had a terrible nightmare, and realize I have woke up in Hell. God better keep his eye on us, he's all the help we've got left. The ridiculous, religious right may have to eat their votes. :grr: :nuke:

2. The failure to mention
M. Maurer was a fellow director at IPL. Probably just
a slight oversight, you think?

3. Good call.
I forgot that he was a member of IPL's board. I guess my major problem with this whole issue is that running government agencies is completely different than running businesses - even if done with the best of intentions.

4. Fiscal matters
I think that we can be truly thankful that state law doesn't allow the state to run deficits after his performance at the national level as head of Office of Management and Budget. Biggest US deficit in the history of the country.

5. Strange
That Maurer had only voted in the 2002 general election.

Silverman voted in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 general elections and 2000 primary. Says he is not a political person??? Sure

Don't have whether they voted in 2004
