5. Marion Elections

In Marion we have Carl Foster and Paul Rehn running for Mayor.... according to my voter lists Foster is registered as a Republican, Rehn is a No Party (although his wife is a registered Republican).

In the At-Large Race we have Nick Glew (former? TV9 news guy) running unopposed (doh!).. he is also a Republican.

In my district, 3, we have Kay Lammers (a registered Democrat) running unopposed.

I think the only other opposed race is in district 1, where we have Kim Dooley (Democrat) running against Steve Sprague (Republican).

8. A familiar face for Mayor

of Davenport. Bill Gluba gets my vote and a relative newcomer by the name of Lisa Lewis is getting my vote for Fourth Ward Alderman (person?). For Alderman at Large, Jen Olsen gets my vote, she has some fabulous ideas on how to bring back the rapidly decaying inner city and her husband is a friend of mine, and for the other Alderman at Large, I haven't quite made up my mind. The politics in the City of Davenport is allegedly non partisan, but everyone knows that Bill Gluba is a good Democrat, as are Lewis and Olsen. So hopefully, we can get a progressive Mayor and City Council. We need something. One more note, Gluba actually called a lot of people from his home phone. No robo calls, which I hate. Even if he wasn't a well known Democrat with progressive ideas, that alone would almost be enough to sway me.
