From the UNI School Paper. I am the founder of UNI Students for Edwards, and was instrumental in organizing the appearance. What the article doesn't say is that we had 380 people there!!

1. It was really great to see Sen. Edwards at UNI

speaking about education - such an important topic. This was a great forum for that because the audience could hear his ideas on that much more in depth. Plus there were a lot more audience questions than are usual at such events. So, thanks, Josh, for the role you played in bringing that about! Good job!

I heard they had 370 sign in, so there was probably 400+ there.

My favorite quote (about NCLB) "You can't fatten a hog by weighing it".

His plan for a teaching academy similar to the service academies and scholarships for future teachers, especially in the more difficult schools, sounded like reforms this country really needs. Once again, Edwards is the one with the specific plans and specific ways to pay for these plans.

2. Sounds like you did well!

I was actually at UNI last Thursday for a college visit with Callie's sister (who is considering transferring there next fall), and saw at least one (I believe there were a few) Edwards notices chalk-written on the ground in front of major buildings. It was a nice campus by the way, I had never been there before (besides the dome, and the obligatory partying at the hill - but that doesn't count, right?).

Anyway, even though Edwards is not my guy, it's always good to see college-aged Dems kicking ass, so congratulations!

I work very close with the staff. Sign-in was 340 and the head count determined about 380. Glad you could make it

6. I know, I am sorry...

I really would have called if we had any time after the visit, but we had to hurry back to relieve Callie from the double-child duty.. we were literally only in town for a couple hours and it was packed with advisor/financial aid/tour visits. She wants to check out the area one more time before she decides, and this one will be unofficial, so we can definitely meet up then!!

I was actually in the Art building at one point I believe. I was looking for Jr but I didn't see him!
