OMG OMG OMG UNI WINS 38-35!!!!

Panthers beat New Hampshire in final 7 seconds

<snip>

A dramatic, juggling 24-yard touchdown catch by true freshman receiver Montari Leonard with seven seconds to play gave top-ranked Northern Iowa wild, 38-35 victory over New Hampshire in the opening round of the Football Championship Subdivision Series playoffs at the UNI-Dome.

Leonard had fumbled earlier in the period, costing the Panthers a chance to salt the game away. He very nearly failed to grip Eric Sanders' pass as he dashed through the end zone. He didn't drop it. Securing the ball before he ran out of bounds, Leonard got the ball.

And UNI got to the second round of the playoffs.

New Hampshire didn't lead until Wildcat running back Chad Kackert dashed 16 yards for the score that made it 35-31 with 1 minute, 16 seconds to go.

With no time outs left, UNI drove 71 yards in five plays and 1:08 to win it

3. Got to see it on Mediacom cable ch. 22
Yeah, I still have cable. And that was one amazing game. That Santos who plays qb for UNH was darn near unstoppable, but UNI made a steady march downfield. That kid made an incredible catch, snatching it from around his head, nearly fumbling when he brought the ball down to his chest, and nearly losing control again when securing the ball. And he never stopped running! Great game, great comeback, great catch! Bring on the Blue Hens of Delaware.

5. Santos worried me late in the fourth. Like he was trained to come from behind
with no time on the clock. (It looked like this was NH's gameplan, wear 'em out and then throw that ball like a rocket all the way to a victory :wow:) I am SO grateful that our defense could slow him down and even rattle him a little and that Sanders et al could keep their cool through that last minute! And Montari Leonard seemed as scared as all of us during that last play (and as surprised that he was able to hold on to the ball!)

10. Like Clinton did re: Yankees/Cubs?
Or maybe he'll be like Rudy and shun his hometown team to support the Red Sox???
