Oh, and I don't think Hillary would begrudge me for looking around before committing... although her campaign workers do look a little flustered when I refuse to sign a pledge card after talking the local political scene with them. Oh the joys of being an Iowan.
And for the record Ms Debi, as of today my committment is still up for grabs. I would like to support Clinton or Biden, with Obama being a distant third (for now anyway, I'll check back in after the Oprah-factor has been applied). My plans for the caucus are as follows:
Attempt to determine the viability of all groups.
If Biden is already viable, support main candidate (which if I choose Biden will be him obviously).
If Biden is not viable, I will caucus for him and attempt to have others join to make him viable. This will hopefully prevent any of his supporters from going elsewhere, limit the support to other candidates, and give Joe's peeps a voice at the county level (and even if I don't support him, I like him).
If my support won't help Biden, I'll try to do the same for any other "bottom tier" candidate for the same reason basically, to attempt to prevent their supporters from going to other candidates.
If all else fails, and Biden is not viable, and I can't make a viable group of the others, I'll support either Clinton or Obama, with Clinton being first of those two for now.
How's THAT for a caucus strategery? I am supposed to be the temp caucus chair, so hopefully I am not too busy to do all of that quickly.
Either way, I'll make it to the county convention one way or another, and will see you all at the State Convention!
