I just saw this commercial played, paid for by a group called Democratic Courage or something similar:

It makes me ill. These types of ads have no place in a primary/caucus process. Of course Hillary has to respond to this nonsense (whether directly or indirectly), which will only serve to ramp up the negativity in this race as a whole. ALL of our candidates will suffer from this type of crap.

This ad makes Rudy look good, who benefits from that..other than Rudy?

ON EDIT: Anyone care to speculate on Edwards' ties to this group/ad?

I don't think a $250.00 contribution to Edwards back in June makes Hurowitz a high roller in the Edwards campaign, do you?

It was Edwards' co-founding of the group (I think?) that has led many to make the ties between Hurowitz and Edwards.. but ya know, Edwards doesn't have control of the group now, so I am putting the disgust soley on Hurowitz and Democratic Courage for this.

I just figured with all the Edwards supporters here, it would be a pretty spirited conversation.

ON EDIT: I should clarify, I've only read about Edwards' ties to this group through comments on the blog I linked to, and haven't had much of a chance to research the connection. If he is not connected (or if he didn't co-found the group), please PLEASE set me straight.

Now, Seth, I'm as cynical as you about a group that shows anti-candidate ads at the same time they say they will support that candidate in the end. AND I'm wary about two people who have contributed to one candidate saying that they REALLY aren't doing for that candidate's benefit. BUT, there just doesn't seem to be any ties to Edwards (now watch, a comparison of Edwards presidential contributors will be a mirror of this group....x(). I know that I'll be set straight by IA DUers who want to take more time to research this than me.

Oh, and it looks like the ads are only web-based at the moment - guess the group isn't getting much $$? :shrug:
