Seriously though, while this type of behavior is absolutely abhorrent, I can't rightly see how this can be blamed on Sen Clinton's campaign...
There are bad apples in every bunch and, as another DUer posted at the link, perhaps this volunteer's reasoning for helping Clinton was anti-Obama in origin - and not because of policy. While I would almost guarantee that racist volunteers wouldn't be welcome at ANY campaign, we surely can't blame the campaign when they show themselves, can we? Is there any way of pre-screening volunteers for racism/bigotry, or general stupidity? I'd love to get that screening set up as part of the new hire process here at work...
While I know this looks horrible, and you know how I feel about it in the first place, I don't put the blame on Senator Clinton. Am I wrong?
ON EDIT: I am doubly irritated by this whole thing because the way it's protrayed makes me think that people feel that it would be a bad thing to be a Muslim, or that association with Muslims becomes a character flaw. Perhaps that's because I haven't read the actual email.
I wonder how many sexist/hateful remarks about Senator Clinton are forwarded around the country on a daily basis? Or Richardson, or Edwards, or any of them for that matter?
