Well, ice-a-palooza is here
And it sure is ugly. Just looking outside, it is not good. I live on a snow route with city bus service once an hour and regular snow plow service. I have seen neither yet. The tree next door is probably going to lose a branch or two from all the ice and the cars parked on the street are totally iced over. If anyone has to go out today, be careful.

1. Yup this is real special
I've been in a "holding pattern" waiting for a spinal fusion in the morning. I saved all my errands for today, and they're not even going to try to clean the streets. Oh well, if I get in a fender bender it'll just take a little longer to put me back together. :P

2. School's closed!
School is closed here in Marshalltown, something that never happens. I remember one time a few years ago, Marshalltown was the only school in the state that wasn't closed during a winter storm.

4. Just got electricity back!
It's been off since about 8:30. It usually takes a couple days to get power back on way out here - east of North English. There's no going anywhere on our gravel road. No one in the 9 houses/farms on this road is able to go anywhere. Gotta love this global warming.

8. Ok, so I am without power now...
My home has been in the dark for a few hours now, so I am leaving work, headed home, and am going to scoop up my baby girls and take them to civilization somewhere.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Stay Safe!

9. Lost a big branch from the willow tree
Fell right onto the shed and fence. I think the shed is ok, but the fence is a little bent up. Better than it falling on the house I guess.

13. Wow, we're just not seeing it here
slushy and icy roads, but we have power and we're all shoveled out. Looks like we got missed again (didn't lose power in the big ice storm earlier in the year either).

15. Well the electricity came back about 2 hours ago.
Was up and down, up and down from 1PM to 7. We were out about 5 hours of the 6.
Funny thing, there was no problem on the other side of town where Rambis and Cyberswede live. And didn't one of them just get elected to council? Connect the dots, people!
