1. This is bull
About Mari Culver's decision to endorse Edwards...

Her change of heart last week — which came despite phone calls from friends and supporters — could do long-term damage to her husband and to the state, Skinny’s squad of seers said. The Clintons can be every bit as vindictive as the Culvers, notes a long-time operative, and he notes that Hillary Clinton has a lot greater chance of being president than Edwards does. Still, he notes that big hitters are nothing if not practical, and he doesn’t think many of them will close their checkbooks when Culver runs for re-election.

After hard fought primary elections, the party bigwigs beg and plead for all the Democrats to come together as one party and then one endorsements gets them up in arms. That is very childish.

2. People are just griping
It will all be over and forgotten by County Convention time and certainly by state convention time.

The rumors about Fallon are more worrisome in my mind.

3. Has Boswell announced he is running?
According to the crack reporting at Century of the Common Iowa, it looks like Boswell has been raising money.

Here are fundraising numbers in the 2nd quarter...

3rd District
Leonard Boswell - D $242,000 raised and $525,00 cash on hand

However, has Boswell officially announced?

6. Challenge to Boswell
Debi - I think our love may soon be tested ... I would be in support of a primary against Boswell. I think Ed Fallon may be just the right guy. Boswell is very unhelpful in so many ways to those of us who are progressive here in central Iowa. Even on issues like repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell he is unhelpful. If he cannot be counted on to stand up on core issues like equality and security, what good is he?

7. It won't be dear....we agree
Boswell is a Blue Dog Democrat (a group I'm not entirely fond of) and I'm not a huge fan of many of his votes. That being said, if Fallon is certain he can a) defeat Boswell in a primary and b) be victorious in November and c) HELP Iowa as a whole once he's in D.C. great. I want a Democrat in that seat in D.C. I don't want a republican in that seat b/c of a primary mess. I'd feel differently if it were an open seat - then it's a free-for-all - I worry about taking on an incumbent, even a not so productive one.
