From Precinct 5 in Des Moines County, Iowa (Burlington)
We had 231 attending, which was double the 2004 caucus. Our initial counts were:

Obama 101
Hillary 72
Edwards 39
Biden 14
Dodds 3
Richardson 1
Kucinich 1

After struggling to get enough (35) delegates for Biden and not being successful, we ended up with the following counts:

Obama 111
Hillary 76
Edwards 44

My children and grandchildren (who were standing with Biden, too) had the same scenario, but I don't have those precinct numbers.

For Biden supporters, it was a sad night. He is a good man and a highly qualified candidate and I regret deeply that he didn't score high enough to be viable and move on to New Hampshire.

I can only hope he will have a highly visible position in the new Democratic administration so he can help turn this country around to what it was BB (before Bush).

My family loves you, Joe! We are so sorry we let you down.

1. Precinct 2 is sorry too
We only had 8. Three of us remained undeclared, and we were proud to do so. As we conversed we realized we had the same thoughts: Edwards was a remade recycle, but still as phony. Hillary's corner was full of shriveled, monied, old prunes with spouses in tow, and Obama's corner was giving off a rockstar/bandwagon stench.

2. Well thanks for the positivity!
Nothing like labeling our candidate's supporters as phonies, old prunes, and groupies!

I am just as sorry as anyone that Joe and Chris dropped out of the race, but now is a time to rally as a party, not continue the bashing.

3. Pardon? I thought I was pretty positive, for being down in the dumps.

5. My post was in response to the other post.. not yours.
calling each of the candidate's supporters names.

You're post was great, and I agree that it's disappointing that Joe is out of the running. Thanks for your report!

6. If only they were true!
I might even take the shriveled, old prune description (even though I'm not yet 30) if it would include the 'monied' part!

Cairycat is joining me in our travels to the Irish Democrat - you really need to find a way to stop in and say hello. :hi:

10. I know, I know...
Between the neice's basketball game, the birthday party, and taking care of a sick sister and child... It will be tough. I am going to try though, if just for a little while.

8. Why yank Biden from the senate?
People want Dodd in the cabinent too. I don't get it. These guys are great senators and we need every great dem in the senate we can keep. I'd like to see them both take bigger roles there. They are class acts.
