The first time we have temps in the 40's and 50's for a solid week, I propose we have a great big Iowa DU barbecue. Sit outside and enjoy the balmy 41 degree weather and grill up some good Iowa steaks. Ok, ok, so it isn't practical. But man, I'm sick of this brutal cold and snow every three days. C'mon Spring!

I guess I regard this sort of winter weather as the norm. And also like what winters were when I was in K-12 and my freshman college year. Why were winters exceptionally brutal in 1959-1963? I have since been told that this was due to the fact that the US and USSR were testing big thermonuclear bombs in the atmosphere up until the sane treaty was signed that stopped those tests.
