Presidential candidate accuses Iowa Republicans of voter fraud
A little-known Republican candidate running for the presidency is claiming that he was a victim of fraud. The perpetrators? Iowa’s Republican Party. The campaign tells Skinny that the party issued “The Red Paper” to each of the precincts in the state, which listed the names of all the candidates in the caucuses and was supposed to be used by precincts to report totals to the party on Caucus night. John Cox’s name was left off, despite being listed among eligible candidates on the party’s Web site (iowagop.org) for months. The paper became a ballot, which is not in keeping with the Caucus traditions of the party, Skinny hears. Cox’s campaign also insists that their supporters reported being told that if they did not vote for a candidate listed on “The Red Paper,” their votes would not be counted. By being left off, Cox was deprived of the handful of votes that were rightly his, and, a shot at a solid last-place finish. Skinny wonders, will the injustices never cease? …
