x( What's it doing at your place?

(okay, this question is to all Iowa DUers, not just rurallib - I just blame him for jinxing Iowa with his 'no snow' post!)

1. Glad to see you're "sharing the wealth"
So to speak. Here in the Quads, it is raining at this time. Not freezing yet, but that will undoubtedly happen later. I hate winter. Gripe, moan, complain...Ah never mind. Baseball players are in spring training, can Spring be far behind?

2. Snowing and Blowing here in Allamakee county...generally pretty nasty already.
We're supposed to end up with 6-10". Blizzard warning in effect. Yippee. This winter has been something else.

Just to the south of us - around Prairie du Chien they have already had a good dose of freezing rain and ice accumulation. We had a little the way the trees look, but not much, thankfully.

This one definitely sounds like it will be nasty. Batten down the hatches, Iowans! :yoiks:

6. Get warm and dry and stay that way!
We've been watching all the morning political shows as well as watching the sleet/snow fall outside. Tomorrow will be interesting!

Enough ice to fall, not enough spilled bird seed and snow for a proper angel.

4. Rain at 7AM. Snow started @ 10:30
Kids came from Indiana this weekend. I begged them not to. So they get up this Am and smoked out of here by 7:30. They 'didn't realize it was going to be so bad.' Oy Vey!
Guess we will miss the intellectual stylings of of KKKKKarl tonite.

I am really, really sorry about my prediction. I have lots of walks to shovel as my personal punishment

9. I'm thinking that next fall Rurallib
needs to write a post about how terrible the winter of '08-'09 will be, how much snow and sleet and snow days for schools, etc. etc. - so that it will be a mild and green winter!

Think it will work?

c-cat in CF like debi, where my pastor canceled services this morning

21. Apparently we're inland enough that there wouldn't be much damage.
At least that's what I hear. Apparently it can get nasty, but nothing more than Cat 2 by the time it gets this far inland.

12. The wind is really picking up
Here in Coralville, and it's still snowing. No snowplows on my street yet. It's not very pleasant out there, but nice and cozy in the house.

15. heaviest snow that I have ever shoveled
I moved this fall from a 1 car garage and no sidewalk to a 3 car garage and a sidewalk. I have done more shoveling this winter than my entire life. Today's snow was the heaviest snow that I have ever shoveled. Here in Marshalltown we didn't even get as much as they expected (3 inches or so instead of the 6-8).

20. We only got about 2 inches but oh so heavy
and the blower is useless with this stuff.
The city plow drivers kept going by and they were kind enough to turn their plows at my driveway.
