McCain pulls a slick Willy?
John McCain seems to have slept with an intern and than granted favors. Everyone in the far right news is trying to make this out like it is no big deal. And they killed Bill for this just 10 years ago. "The party of Family Values" my ass! I'll never let them forget this one!

1. A lobbyist and then granted favors
My recollection is that that is illegal (quid pro quo).
I had a friend who always said if you are going to fuck around on your wife, it had better be the best piece of ass you ever had. She or someone will find out and it will cost you everything you ever worked for. So make it good.
Was it good Johnny Mac?

2. Just remember: McCain's a Republican, so he gets a free pass by the media.
Apparently what's really important is that Michelle Obama finally feels proud of Americans for picking someone worthwhile. Who cares if McCain fucked a lobbyist and then granted her favors? He's a Republican, so nobody should ever say anything bad about him.

3. I'd love for this to be true...
but I just hate to go along with this and crucify a guy for something which we know nothing about.

You know damn well if something like this popped about Obama or Clinton we'd all be in an uproar about it being false/hype, etc.

It's hard giving some people the benefit of the doubt, but why use these types of character flaws when we can beat him soundly on policy?

4. I think this will actually help him
As others on DU have said much better, I think this will rally the right to defend him (agaisnt the "liberal media smear").

6. What about Swiftboat?
How soon we forget...Being the nice guy in the election wont get us anywhere. I hear what your saying, but mark my words, the GOP will have a smear campaign of its own this summer and they are not as passionate as you, they will not care if it is true or false. They didnt in 2004, and for those old fogees like me in 1988 either. Thats 2 bush's that should have lost and smeared there way to the white house.
Im not trying to be pessimistic, but check your history books

It is never ok to make shit up. Truman was president when I was born and I think I still remember a few bits of history.

Edit

History bit: I remember everyone in my one room school house walking 1/2 mile to the house the teacher lived in to watch Kennedy Inauguration.

If I have to beat them at their game, I ain't playing.

Now, don't get me wrong, if there was/is actual proof of any wrong-doings, by all means let it be known... but to jump on and ride a smear when McCain is already laggin with his base.. well that just seems silly.

Oh, and for the record I was a mid-Carter baby.
