I HAS A QSTN!
Now that nearly every state is in play, will they cut us a break? Will they stop nagging us now? You know, the old, "I'm sick of that small/insignificant/white/rural/!@#$* state deciding who our president will be".

Probably not. Oh well.

Of course, that assumes that we retain our first in the nation status.

1. No. If Clinton wins...we are toast.
If Obama wins, we're safe.

2. Fear Monger!
Ha ha.

Honestly though, I think we are probably ripe for the pickings either way. Unless we have a very strong group in the state CC, and a governor who will back us up, I can see some major changes in 2012.

We become a LOT more vulnerable if we (as dems) lose the GE this year.

5. You do realize that the nominee has control of what happens at the national convention don't you?
bah - we can discuss this through PMs if you want.

Let's just say that 2004's egos still piss me off :banghead:

6. Well yeah..
I just really don't believe we are any safer with Obama as the nominee than we are if Clinton were to win.

Either way I think we are F'd. I think we'll have to fight tooth and nail to remain first in any presidential nominating procedures, and it's going to take a group with stiff backbone and a respect for tradition.

7. Fair enough - I'd just like Iowa to go in to the convention w/out
a target on it's back.

3. Simple answer is NO - every state wants to be first
And all will keep bitching until they are.

8. I heard a historian on the public radio talking about this.
She said that, ironically, most states didn't care about being first back in the 70's.

4. If Hillary Clinton is the nominee all caucuses - not just Iowa's - are over
And considering her performance here in Iowa - our first in the nation status is out.

She has made that clear as have all the people speaking on her behalf.

Also, Howard Dean and his AMAZING 50-state strategy will be gone too.

With the contest heading toward convention every delegate counts.

9. Dude, you take a more pessimistic outlook than even me!

I'm kinda expecting to lose Fist status. But all caucuses out?

I fear you may be right about Dean though.

10. I know and I totally broke Cornfield's Law to even state my opinion
But I fear (after listening to Senator Clinton and Terry Mc yesterday and today) that's what will happen! :scared:

12. Quit supporting the DLC
You continue to list more and more reason why Hillary and the DLC she represents needs to be defeated in these primaries..
