Going to be in Cedar Falls this weekend
for the National USA Wrestling tournament (along with a crap load of other people, obviously, since I had to book one day in a hotel in Independence). Any recommendations for good vegetarian food? Anything else to do (don't know how much time we will have outside of my son wrestling, but you never know).

7. I don't know about that rurallib, but when asked about eating out
:P it's ALWAYS better than staying home cooking.

3. Most restaurants in CF now offer Vegetarian dishes
I don't know if there is a specific vegetarian restaurant.

Here's a link to CF restaurants http://www.cedarfallstourism.org/eat.asp

You're going to be at the UNI Dome or Mcleod Center, right? So you might just want to wander up/down College Hill

Beck's Sports grill is on the Hill (that'll be like burgers/wings and stuff but should have some vegetarian options

or

Blue Moon Café - which is also on the Hill and offers a vegetarian menu.

There are other restaurants on the hill as well.

Downtown Cedar Falls is lovely and has several restaurants on Main street (stretching from 1st Street to 5th Street)
and Cup of Joes is the BEST Coffey house around!

++++++++

Evening events in Cedar Falls on a Saturday night? Here's a link to UNI's web site that will get you to all that's going on around campus (look at the museum - I know there is a series on space going on right now)

And here's a link to our Convention and Tourism calendar. http://events.waterloocvb.org/

+++++

Hope that helps.

Enjoy CF!! :hi:

4. If you like Asian food,
we have a wonderful Chinese place, the China Wok. They cook everything fresh, veggies just the right texture, best hot and sour soup anywhere. It's at 123 E. 18th St, within easy driving distance of the UNI campus. They have several vegetarian entrees.

There's also a pretty good Thai place, Thai Blessings To Go. The food is good, and I think they make or you could order vegetarian fare. It's a little farther from campus, off Highway 27.

5. Yea Cairycat! I was hoping you'd jump in here
The Debi's eating habits in CF consist mainly of the Brown Bottle, Bourbon Street, SoHo and take out pizza. After that we're not much help. :hi:

Are you going to the district convention?

8. Hmmmm ... the Brown Bottle
Grew up in C.F. and went to U.N.I. (seems like nearly everybody with whom I attended high school spent some time at U.N.I.) in addition to working there for a while in the '90s.

Just the other day, I was talking with another from C.F. that the Brown Bottle entered the conversation. Then came the discussion - C.F. Brown Bottle or Waterloo Brown Bottle.

10. Of course ... C.F.!
Of course ... I'm biased.

My friend (a C.F. Native) married a Waterloo native. Even when they lived there, they took opposing sides on which Brown Bottle.
