2. I believe its gone up 20 cents this week
I'm not looking forward to the $4 gas everyone is predicting by Memorial day.. But I wonder even at this price will it curtail our wasteful driving habits..

6. Yet raising cost haven't curtailed travel
I recently read in the DMR that Iowan's only reduce consumption by about 1% if gasoline sales are any indicator..

SO I have to wonder at just what price will Iowan's finally realize that they need to conserve in a much great way to prevent gas prices from really going thru the roof.. But atlas, I don't see than happening even with the predicted $4 gas by Memorial Day.. I still witness every morning that I am out and about for my business, one occupant per car on their way to work throughout Des Moines..

SO it will be interesting to see just how much these prices effects tourism and vacations this year.. I know if I have too, I will travel to take a vacation and not worry about the price..

7. I shut down my (one man) small business
I had some yard work/landscaping type stuff going on because the hours in my regular job allow me quite a bit of free time. But I can't afford the price of gas, even lawn mower gas in ratio to clients I have. I am continuing to do one yard because she is elderly. She offered to pay me but I said screw it, I'll do hers for free. I have nothing else to lose and it makes me feel good to help out others.

8. Gas for mower
16$ yesterday for mower gas- I wish the yard was smaller so I could get a non gas push mower but that would take me hours and hours. It was 3 1/2 hours with the push mower and it was getting dark on me so I went to the rider (free from brother in law).

9. Or you could change your idea of a well kept lawn
I have been mowing grass since I was 8 years old. My father was nutzoid on keeping the grass cut low. I still cut mine way too low and way too often. I have seen many lawns cut higher that really look nice, but they also bother my paradigm of the 'well-kept lawn".

12. I had one once
I had one about three years ago. I couldn't find a place to put the gas or the pull rope soI took it back to Sears to upgrade for one with a gas tank and a rope.
