I just got off the phone with Ed Fallon.
Ed is getting crushed by Boswell when it comes to money. He really could use the support of all progressive Iowans, even if you don't live in the 3rd congressional district. For that matter, Ed could use the support of progressives across the country.

I probably don't need to remind everyone that, unlike Boswell, Ed does NOT accept money from lobbyists or PACs. He never has. He is probably the purest politician I know. When Ed says he supports efforts to combat global warming, you can trust him because he lives this way. (If you ever see someone riding their bike in downtown Des Moines when it is raining or freezing outside, it is probably Ed!) It's not just words with Ed. When he says it is important to support our local economy, you can trust him because he only shops and dines locally. Ed Fallon walks the walk. We need a representative like him in the US Congress.

Any nickel or dime you can spare would be greatly appreciated by Ed's campaign. It is our nickels and dimes that is funding his campaign. He needs us as much as we need him. Below is a link to his website which has a link to contribute.

Thanks everyone!

1. I really like what I hear of him.
I'll donate some. He has an uphill climb. Boswell has the big guns supporting him. Got an email asking for money from Al Gore.

Is Boswell running scared?

5. That was disappointing of Gore.
It makes me wonder where the real heroes are.

2. I have made a couple donations to Ed's campaign so far
and would encourage anyone to chip in to help out a true progressive Democrat.

4. Yum...I didn't get my recipe when I donated for his birthday.
Ed said he would look into it and maybe I'd invite him over for dinner once I got the recipe!

He is the most down-to-earth person.

6. He is also getting crushed in polling:
Boswell ahead in 3rd District primary poll

THE DES MOINES REGISTER

A new poll shows U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell with a comfortable lead over former state Rep. Ed Fallon for the Democratic primary in Iowa's 3rd Congressional District.

The survey, conducted for KCCI-TV, showed Boswell with support from 52 percent of likely Democratic primary voters and Fallon with support from 28 percent.

The poll was conducted Monday through Wednesday and included responses from 400 likely voters in the district, which includes Polk County and 11 rural counties.

The margin of error was plus or minus 5 percentage points.

7. This is very unfortunate. Fallon is the better candidate. Sigh.
