In 2006, Jim Leach explained to a small crowd at his townhall that the Depression
really did not need to happen. He claimed there was plenty of money but people had been scared into holding on to it. He said he feared that this is what would bring about the next depression. It was right at the end of the meeting time, so there was no time to argue.
I wonder how he feels today? My guess he feels the same, despite tons of evidence to the contrary.
