I heard Ol' McCain is going to be in Davenport Saturday

Saw something about it in this mornings QC Times. It seems that details aren't firmed up yet, or if they are, it is a secret. But the article said he will be appearing at Davenport Central High School, which is somewhat ironic because 1-It is a school Bill Clinton visited near the end of his second term and gave federal money to so it could be fixed up, and 2- it is an inner city school with a large minority presence. There have literally been shootings and stabbings around that place. Now I have to work until 5 PM, so I likely won't be able to make it, but if anyone wants to go and heckle him, then do it. If they will let any detractors in that is.

1. I can think of a number of unpleasant things I'd rather do than go to this McCain event

Those include,

A. Getting a root canal.
B. Having a prostate exam.
C. Getting teeth pulled.
D. Sit down in the easy chair at home and guzzle a whole six pack of either Milwaukee's Best or Old Milwaukee.

10. Well I've done three of those things

Had a root canal, it was actually painless, had a prostate exam, I am middle aged and I sure don't want my health insurance taxed, and I have sat down in the easy chair and guzzled cheap beer. Actually, that ain't all bad. Anyway, I have to work, so no McCain rally for me. I heard there are still tix left. Bet if it was Obama they'd have to hold it somewhere than the River Center, which is kind of small, and the tix would be gone.

I've had probably had 8 teeth, at least 4 of them adult teeth, pulled out of my mouth, not including 3 wisdom teeth. I have a relatively small jaw, so something had to go. But, I really hate the dentist's office because of that.

It's painful, but so is listening to either half of the Republican ticket.

2. This just makes no sense at all.

1) Iowa looks like a blowout and has for a couple weeks. Yet he comes to Iowa anyway. And one of the bluest parts I would reckon.
2) And it surely won't help him in Illinois.
3) Maybe he wanted to go to Sioux City but his staff picked the wrong river? Yet I don't think the rabid neocons out there want anything to do with him either.
4) M/P seems to be pouring money into the sate based on the big signs I see popping up. Is this leftover Michigan money they must spend.
5) I hear they are already plenty low on cash. Why waste a trip here?
6) He may be looking for a new house. Are there some mansions for sale down there?

I was sitting at a stoplight on 2nd street when the McCain idiots were milling around. One of them came up and said; "If you vote for Obama you support terrorism and aren't a good American." Then he proceeds to slaps a bumper sticker on the engine hood of my car.

I immediately jumped out, ripped it off the car, tossed it at him and prepared for a fight. He stood there, kinda dumbstruck and didn't know what to do.

If you confront them, they'll back down.

One guy tried to sneak up on me, but I turned to go back to my car at the right time. All I'll say is that he needed help getting to his feet and walking away.

If that had been my vehicle damaged in such a fashion I sure as hell would've gotten the police involved. My baby's only a few months old and has already been the victim of a car vs. deer contest. I'm sure as hell not going to let it be the victim of some righty idiot who runs around with his nose in the air. Probably a good thing I wasn't down there today. I would likely be sitting in Scott County Jail right now because I would have not been as patient as you. Did anyone else see the encounter? You should report it to all local media.
But on the other hand, I've been to several of these rallies, although never ever to a repub thing, and have confronted righties, and have only had trouble once. And that was at a Hillary appearance downtown where some anti-abortion people started yelling at me. I calmy told a guy to shut up and don't ever talk to me again, and he slunk away. And the cops were everywhere. So where were the cops when all this happened? And when you got out of the car, did you pull over or just say "fuck it" and hold up traffic? The lights aren't all that long down there and what you describe would have certainly been through a cycle or two of lights. Just sayin'. I live in Davenport. I know this city.

...when I was able to take care of it myself. The first guy backed away when I stood up to him. The second guy got a forearm/elbow shiver to the side of his head. I don't think he'll be messing with Obama supporters again. Can I get a :woohoo:

The thing that hacks me the worst about it is that my car has NO bumper stickers of any kind. Nothing stating who I'm voting for. Hell, not even a AAA sticker. Being a truck driver, I'm hardly ever driving the car. Why waste a bumper sticker on my car, when someone else that uses their car everyday would get better use of it. I'm all about sharing. :headbang:

My windows were up and I was jamming to some tunes. I could hear him through the windshield and windows. I just kinda waved him off, trying to the bigger man, but when he slapped the bumper stick on the car; that crossed the line. Just him trying to intimidate me with his ranting is enough, by law, to knock the guy for a loop. But when he tagged the car; he then invaded my personal zone. So I confronted him. Like the true cowards most McCain supporters are, he backed down. The second guy was just stupid. Obviously a Palin worshiper. Truly dumber than a bag of hammers.

I'm a Democrat that's tired of taking the high road and doing it the polite way, henceforth trying to wave him off. But when you start with the physical stuff, I'll make the little bastards pay...Right Here, Right Now. And I'm not going to report it to the media. There's already enough people trying to paint Obama supporters as angry, spiteful, etc.
