I had a LTTE in the paper today

Santa was pretty good to me this year, and I got a bit of a bonus gift today.

At church this morning I was surprised to learn that a letter I had written to the local paper tearing the GOP a new one for their union busting activities was published. I hadn't had a chance to look at the paper that morning. I also didn't get the phone call verifying that I wrote the thing, but since I'm a frequent author they must figure that anything purporting to come from me that rips the GOP for something is probably from me and to go ahead and publish it.

Everyone I've encountered today has agreed with me about the letter. But obviously the local GOP contingent got wind of my letter and is busy going at it in the comments section.

The gop just can't deal with the truth. And I'm old enough to remember when Dubuque was a good Union town. I suppose there will always be right wing anti Union rednecks among us, but let's hope their ranks are shrinking.

2. Good letter - really strange comments

back in the 1930s when Roosevelt came in, people could at least have a civil discussion on problems. I do not believe that is possible now. I do believe that there is a large element of the right wing that would prefer to see this country destroyed rather than admit they are wrong. It also amazes me that there are so many people who not only vote against their better interests but will actively campaign to have them destroyed.

There's a dedicated corps of GOP keyboard commandos who make these comments every time.

write each other and then post in unison. No two people could think that much alike.
