My corn stove was on the fritz but I figured it out , so we are snuggly.

1. Well, I just paid my Gas and elec. yesterday

So I'm good for this month at least. And quite frankly, it won't matter if it's -20 on the 20th, it will be a GREAT day in the USA!

3. Blizzard bust up here in my neck of the woods

Did a little shoveling but not much - but OHHHHHHh it is cold! :scared:

5. Guess I got my answer...7 (freaking) inches and bloooooowing wind

7. I have one of those little snow brooms which works perfect for the wheelchair ramp

I still have to go 'tidy up' with a shovel but the heavy stuff is blown right off. We have a 'snow plow guy' that does our drive - and right now I love him. I think I'm going to put little Xs and Os on the check next time he stops to get paid!

4. Okay, I know we are a hardy people .. But enough is enough all ready

Do we as Iowans have to singly reestablish the Arctic Ice Sheet. Starting my car goes like this. vr vr vroo vroo, vroom , vroo, vroo, vr vr .. and then nothing.

8. One singular advantage to this really bitter cold

I can safely store my frozen food on the porch while defrosting my freezer. Even had the day off to do it, since school was canceled.

The youngest Cairykitten, upon waking up half an hour after the usual start of school: "Delayed or canceled?" "Canceled." "Oh, yeah!" (pumps fist)
