and others who helped put Iowa as "first in the nation". In our recent trip for the inauguration of Barack Obama, most folks on our bus were content to just being there. Many of us had been at picnics with him, shook his hand, danced into the Harkin steak fry with him, even had occasion to talk in private . We knew him and he knew us.
That fact didn't stop us from wanting to advertise Iowa a little so the folks on our bus wore great buttons that said "It started in Iowa Barack Obama 44th President of the United States January 20, 2009". What a great reception we recd - Thanks Iowa, Way to go Iowa, it was constant no matter where we went. We were very proud to represent Iowa, First in the Nation.
By the way, Dave, your button is in the mail. Thank you.
