Prostitution sting in West Des Moines nets lawyer, pastor

A lawyer, a pastor and the former head of a state agency are among the 13 men charged in a West Des Moines prostitution sting that drew online customers with a suggestive Web site.
Police arrested the men between Feb. 16 and 24 at an undisclosed apartment complex, Lt. Jeff Miller said.

Police were tipped off about an unusual number of men arriving at and leaving the Westown Parkway Residences apartment complex, 3530 Westown Parkway, near Valley West Mall, Miller said.

"We identified a woman there and realized that she was using a room as a prostitute," he said. "After confronting her, she agreed to work with us to set up the sting."

The men used www.escorts.com to connect with the woman, and they brought between $200 and $300 cash, court records show. Police declined to identify the woman, who was not charged, Miller said, because she helped set up the arrests. The men were arrested at a different complex. They ranged in age from 43 to 70:
