It's getting to be "too much". I've been reading the LTTEs and comments there lately and I gotta tell ya, it is too much.

Some of these people are just plain nuts. It's not quite so bad down here (SW IA). How's the crazy in your part of IA?

3. I've heard that you Johnson Co people are virtually Commies
Prius driving, tree hugging, vegetarian, Commies!

Socialist, liberal, baby-killers.

2. Well, Muscatine county is the money fount for Iowa and home
to "Iowans for Tax Relief" and David Stanley. So we have some tremendous pockets of crazy. And the repugs have steadily lost most of their offices. Hopefully we can get the rest out next time.

4. Oh boy, that's gotta be fun.
Around here the gay marriage opponents seem to be louder than the tea baggers. At least for the time being.

7. I've cancelled my subscription to the local papers for various reasons
The CR Gazette and the IC Press Citizen. Chiefly, no depth. Takes five minutes to read. All wire stories.

10. I let ours expire because of that.
Five minutes would be a long read for me. However, my wife likes the local stuff so we may renew if we can swing the $ later in the year.

12. The thing is, progressoid, you can read it on line..
I know newspapers have to make money but if you offer it for free who's going to turn it down?

13. That's what I do.
My wife likes actual paper though. Even after we replaced the dying monitor with a nice flat screen, she still likes paper. Go figure.

8. I'm in Dubuque County
It's not too bad around here. Yes we have some crazies around here but we're still a pretty strong Democratic area of the state.

11. The Messenger is still over the edge...
especially in the editorials. I grew up in Humboldt, so check in with the Messenger obits fairly regularly. I (still) cringe at the editorial and LTTE positions.
