The Science World comes to Iowa City!
Iowa City is a pretty diverse place. Obviously. You add over 800 Molecular and Evolutionary Biologists from all corners of the earth and it becomes extremely fascinating. The UofI is the guest host of these Biologists for the first time, and probably the only time, in history. Last year-Barcelona. Next year-Lyon. Their motto: We Think and We Drink. Had a chance to meet alot of them since the happy iowan is deeply involved in running the show. Just incredible. They are as excited about our great city and state as we are to have them. But, I'll add some details, later. It's 80 degrees. An almost full moon. The Arts Festival is going on. And, the Squirrel Nut Zippers are about to take the stage. Wow!

2. I'm blinded by science, Iowans...
...but I guess this is a pretty big deal if the Washington Post sent their science editor out to cover the doings. Along with manufactorers reps of various industries in town, we're overrun. In a good way. Happy came upon an idyllic scene, yesterday. Coming out of the Memorial Union, she looked up the hill to see hundreds of scientists sitting behind the Old Capital eating their lunches. Just gazing over Hubbard Park and the Iowa River. Methinks they're having a wonderful time!

3. Cool!
And the Squirrel Nut Zippers too! Way to go Ia City.

I'm stuck indoors looking at a monitor most of the day. Oh well, at least it's work.
