I fail to see how medical insurance services run by "we the people" -- aka our government -- could possibly be any worse than what we have now. If I was in a position to grade our health care system as it stands right now, I would give it a great big "F."
We have an insurance industry in this country that is basically out of control. I wonder how many of our tea party "friends" realize that in some states in this union, a person who gets the stuffing beaten out of them by their partner can be denied coverage under the excuse that the domestic violence was a pre-existing condition? Or that they'll assure you that you have coverage, but will then claim that the insurance was cancelled to October of 2008, and leave you with thousands of dollars in medical bills? Which is what happened to employees of Turbo Airfoil Designs. And what about the 18,000 Americans who die needlessly every year because they are unable to obtain proper health care?
I don't call that a successful health care system. I call that a failure. And that's without government control of our health care system. And it's why I don't see how these reforms could make things worse.
Didn't take the ol' teabaggers too long to come out of the woodwork here in the comments section.
