Dubuque really dodged a big one in last month's elections
Dubuque really dodged a big one in last month's elections by not voting Hammel into office. Here was one of his recent comments to a letter to the editor;

Bill Hammel
12/5/09-5:21 PM

Why does DCRTL only care about babies while the woman is pregnant? AND, they don't want to help fund those women on welfare who can't afford these children? Or fund their health insurance because it's too expensive later on? Something is very wrong here." Really and you know this first hand? As proud members of DCRTL my wife and I have been very involved in life after birth, and resent your insinuations to the contrary! Why are you socialist domokrats so willing to kill the unborn? Oh that's right while you have changed your name you are still the same individual who defended the current rubber stamps or should we say van milligens stooges?

I'm glad he didn't get elected to the council. Dubuque has it's share of problems, just like any city, but the last thing on Earth the city needs is Hammel on the council.
