Good news for Mediacom cable subscribers

There's a bit of good news for people in Iowa who get their cable through Mediacom - which includes people in Dubuque. Mediacom and Sinclair have agreed to an extension of the contract so that their stations can stay on the air for the next 8 days.

That way people here can see the Orange Bowl and a host of other college games this weekend, including the championship game on the 7th.

And let's all pull for a Hawkeyes win. But to be honest, it's real hard to take sides in this dispute. Both corporate entities are nothing but greed all the time. Mediacom is always raising their rates and Sinclair is a well known right wing outfit.

2. I'm glad we don't have Mediacom

We've got DirecTV. We're too far out in the country to be serviced by the cable company. We got DirecTV about ten years ago when satellite systems finally came down enough in price to be reasonable. Never looked back since then.

3. We have DISH. We got it @ 15 years ago and we love it.
