Rants ends his campaign for Governor

Chris Rants has decided not to run for Governor after all;

SIOUX CITY (KWWL) -- State Representative Chris Rants has announced that he is ending his bid to be the next Governor of Iowa.

On his website, Rants says, "Last fall it became evident that my campaign was a long shot. I continued out of a belief that campaigns should be about issues and ideas, and it was worth the effort to shape the public debate around issues that concern my supporters and me. It is now clear that those opportunities for such a debate are not materializing, and I cannot in good conscience accept or solicit support for an effort I know will be ultimately unsuccessful."

The announcement means that Rants' political career is coming to an end.

So that just leaves Braindead, Roberts, and Vander Plaats in the race now.

I was hoping for some good old fashioned crazy vs crazy debates. Oh, well.

With those three left, I'm guessing we'll be looking at Braindead on the ballot in Nov.

Oh yeah, I did hear something about that. In passing. Bye bye righty. And let us pray to god, buddha, allah, whomever that king decides at the last minute to make a run. Then we can be rid of at least two headaches at once.
