Tea Party Express coming through QCs next week

The Tea Party Express will be motoring through the Quad-Cities next week to deliver a message -- "enough is enough ... just vote them out!"

The 43-city, nationwide "Just Vote Them Out" tour is hosting a tea party rally in Bettendorf on Tuesday.

"At each stop the tour will highlight some of the worst offenders in Congress who have voted for higher spending, higher taxes and government intervention in the lives of American families and businesses," the tour's Web site explained. "These members of Congress have infringed upon the freedom of the individual in this great nation, and it's time for us to say "enough is enough!"

Local event organizer Cyndi Diercks, of Grassroots of the Quad-Cities, contends the upcoming event, however, should not be viewed as a political rally.

I need to work some O.T. and Tuesday may be a day to work some. But it does sound tempting to be there and counter the morons, er, people. So I won't commit, but I will give a definite maybe. One thing, if someone could bring any extra signs, I would appreciate it because I am not anything that resembles artistic where drawing and penmanship are concerned. Thanks.

The Tea Party Express III is headed to the Quad Cities but where it will stop has not been determined. They had planned to stop in the parking lot of the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. The only problem, the space has already been reserved for another event, but organizers say another venue is in the works.
