Democrat seeking to unseat Republican Steve King in 5th Congressional District

The arrival of warmer weather has the political season heating up.

That’s how one Congressional candidate described how his campaign is going.

“I’ve been putting together a national team,” Matt Campbell told fellow Democrats in Council Bluffs Saturday.

Campbell, who is seeking to unseat Republican Steve King in Iowa’s 5th Congressional District, said he has hired a general political consulting firm and a research firm both out of Washington D.C. to help his campaign. And, Campbell, a tax attorney from Manning, plans to open a campaign office in Sioux City.

...

“I think I’m a moderate. I like to look at both sides. I think Steve King looks at one side.”

If elected, he would immediately hire liaisons that would work throughout the district to seek more economic development, including that in renewal energy.

Hmm, maybe a moderate Democrat from Sioux City might actually have a chance?
But I'm sure King will stay true to form and refuse to debate any opponent again.
