Iowa Senator Roger Stewart is
not going to seek a 3rd term.
State Sen. Roger Stewart spent eight years in the Iowa Senate, elbow to elbow with his wife, Jennie, who served as his clerk.
She helped him improve his computer skills, answer constituent questions, sort new bills and on one occasion, dared to offer her opinion on a vote.
"I said, 'How could you vote that way on this?' He looked at me and said, 'Who elected you?'" Jennie recalled, laughing. "I can't even remember what bill it is anymore."
After eight years in the Senate, Roger Stewart, D-Preston, decided that he wouldn't seek a third term. He and his wife will use their free time to travel and spend time on their rural Jackson County farm.
Hopefully we'll get a good person as his replacement.
