what do you think of this plan:
In 2012 Iowa is going down to four seats. There are currently 100 members of the state house so what I want to do is to cut have each district have 25 seats in the state house. This here is the map of the state house districts:


Now I know that Iowa has never done county splitting, but I like this idea.

House Districts 25, 28, 27, 32, 23, 26, 18, 17, 12, 44, 43, 10, 45, 46, 48, 50, 8, 7, 11, 15, 16, 24, 13, 9, 49

District 2

1. State house lines will be redrawn also, so your logic may not work

Doesn't the state reapportionment and federal both need to be done about the same time.
I know that many of the state districts will change. I am hoping to get away from Kaufmann finally in dist. 80
Cities have grown and rural areas have continued to drop. I am sure Johnson, Linn and Polk will be subtantially bigger. I expect Story, Scott, Blackhawk and Dubuque have probably gained also
