Will VanderPlaats try a third party run?
There are rumors that Bob Vander Plaats may make a run for Governor as a third party candidate. Al we can say is please, please, please do that Bobby. That will insure victory for Culver.
I saw a story about this in the QC Times print edition. www.qctimes.com and go to Iowa news for the online story.

1. Oh please, oh please, oh please!
KCRG had this about Vander Plaats running as an independent;

Vander Plaats has withheld an endorsement and might run as an independent in November.

"If there is talk about a possible third party on the part of social and religious conservatives, it's their way of putting a little pressure on the Branstad campaign," said political analyst Dennis Goldford.

Since a Vander Plaats run would siphon votes from Branstad, the Iowa Family Policy Center has already announced that it won't plan to endorse the former governor. The group said that Branstad is not conservative enough.

"Purists hate compromise. They hate pragmatism," said Goldford. "They're quite happy to go over the cliff, flags flying, knowing they're pure in their beliefs and principals."

Yes Republicans, that is the best thing you could do.
