Hi friends, my name is Matt Campbell and I’m the Democratic nominee for Congress in Iowa’s 5th District.
Last month I officially won the nomination and will now face Congressman Steve King – who needs no introduction – in November. I’m here to take your questions and to build a relationship with the Netroots.
Feel free to ask me anything.

PASS. Not good enough, Mr. Campbell. (0+ / 0-)
Just another "Blue Dog" corporatist politician with a pet issue or two -- as long as it doesn't trample his corporate ties.
http://mattcampbellforcongress.com/... I support reducing the general corporate income tax rate to 33% and estate taxes to 40% and to allow this reform to occur.
Next I will champion using stimulus dollars and existing loan-guarantee programs to work with good corporate partners and innovative entrepreneurs to build new manufacturing plants in Western Iowa.
He's Blanche Lincoln for Iowa. If he beats Steve King, whatever -- has to be an improvement. But unless you're flush with cash, I see no point wasting a dollar or a minute on this guy.

I'm working to get elected to help on issues you likely are concerned about. King does nothing for Iowa or what you are concerned about and I'd give that a bit of thought in addition to the balance of power in Congress. Senator Tom Harkin is who I worked for in college and will be who I will look to emulate in Congress. I will look to make sure business works well in the country but that it is appropriately and effectively regulated to make sure workers are safe, that we have an even playing field and that there are appropriate protections for the public. Steve King isn't concerned about any of that. Your comment is part of what's wrong with America. You seem to be completely against what King represents but because I'm a fiscally responsible progressive you don't care. Capitalism isn't bad, it's unregulated capitalism that is. Steve King does damage to our party nationally with his comments and charges and you seem to be ok with keeping a modern-day McCarthy in Congress or to have someone in office that will allow back-sliding on civil rights advances made literally over decades.
