Michael Mayton is in even more trouble with the law now than he already had been. He had just been found guilty of second degree murder and two counts of assault. And when he's led past the county attorney,
this happens;
A jury convicted Michael Mayton, 41, of second-degree murder and two counts of assault. After the verdict, a group of people, including County Attorney Ralph Potter, law enforcement, media and family and friends of the murder victim congregated outside the courtroom. As sheriff's deputies escorted Mayton out of the courtroom, he raised his cuffed hands in the air and forcefully struck Potter, knocking him to the floor, according to multiple eyewitness accounts.
"It just goes to show who the real Michael Mayton is," said Linda Sarden, whose son, 38-year-old David Tate, was stabbed to death by Mayton.
Potter was treated and released from the hospital Friday.
"I'm doing OK. I have a lot of lacerations, but I didn't need any stitches," he said Friday evening.
If there was any doubt that Mayton jumped out of the dumb f--k tree and hit every branch on the way down, well this erases that doubt.
