KCRG reporting poll in which Branstad holds 19 pt. lead over Culver.
My husband is yelling "No way!." We seriously know noone, even self-identified Rs, who want to see him back in office. What is going on here?

1. Western Iowa
Out in the western part of our great state some people think differently (Steve King yuck). And frankly, I have seen many yard signs for Branstad around here as well. Culver is not the best Governor we have ever had, but he is far better than Branstad.

4. Yep. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Branstad or King sign out here.
I just made a loop up to the MN border and back this weekend. Huge Branstad and King signs everywhere. I saw ONE Culver sign - and that was in my neighbor's yard (someone took mine).

2. we may be going back to jesusland.
I used to think that Iowa voters were a bit smarter. I was wrong.
And today when I heard the DM Police endorsed Branstad to get back at Culver it really proved how fucking ignorant we have become.

3. But in something of a stunner
the NRA has endorsed Culver. White is black, up is down, the whole damn world is crazy. Btw, I saw that in the QC Times this morning.

6. Link
www.qctimes.com/news/state-and-regional/iowa. Then scroll down a little bit. It's there. It's bizarre.

8. How many real votes do you think that will actually change?
I am guessing the guy who made the announcement won't even vote for Culver.
OTOH I would guess many of the police would vote for Branstad anyway and with the endorsement many more will.
No one in the NRA will vote for Culver.

7. People remember Clinton Era prosperity. Branstad is basically taking credit for that.
If he wins, he will no doubt take credit for any headway Obama makes on the economy.
