I am officially a volunteer for Fallon's campaign
I heard Ed Fallon speak Saturday morning here in Marshalltown at a breakfast with the Marshall County Democrats. Afterwards, I went up to Ed and told him that I'd like to volunteer for anything in Marshall County to help his campaign out.

Then tonight, I was cleaning up after dinner and got a phone call and it was Ed Fallon asking me to be a precint chair in Marshalltown! I accepted and am excited. My mother-in-law is the County chair for the Vander Plaats campaign, so now I can work to offset her. I am 25 and other than going door to door 2 weekends for Kerry/Edwards last October, this is the first campaign that I am getting involved in.

My wife asked me if this meant that I had to vote for Fallon. I said, probably yeah, but that I would have anyway. Fallon has the most interesting and progressive ideas. A lot of the Democratic candidates will have similar platforms (on education, the environment, and health care) and I think there is more that sets Fallon apart from the others. This includes clean and fair elections, campaign finance, and he is against corporate welfare and the Iowa Values Fund.

I will work hard to promote Fallon's progressive views, but my main goal will still be to elect a Democratic Governor again in Iowa.

2. Now we can duke it out over our candidates!
I'm a Culver supporter.

I do like what I've heard from Fallon and will gladly vote for him if he's the nominee (and give him $$ and volunteer for him)

But I'm with Chet through the primary (and hopefully through the General).

It's great to see support for progressive candidates!

3. As a future teacher
I like what I have heard about Culver and education. I student teach this fall and will be looking for a teaching job in Iowa next year, so this is an important issue for me.

4. I agree (as I've said before...I know , I know)
I like that we can say the positive things about our candidates here and also see why other candidates may be appealing as well. (I don't really want mud slinging or negative campaigning! We'll leave that to the republicans!)

7. Whenever you hear someone say the N word
say something like this...
"You mean the architect of worst budget deficits in the history of civilization? No thank you" I believe in balancing the budget like the contract with America states.

8. Excellent! Highest integrity you'll ever find.
I'd help out myself if I only lived in Iowa -- I live in Ed Fallon's home state of Massachusetts, so other than Ed I'm not up to speed on Iowa politics.

I've known Ed all my life because he's my cousin. Really nice guy. Does not bow to pressure from special interests. Is in it to help, not just to get elected.

I miss him since he moved to Iowa many years back, only occasionally getting to see him and the family.

(I just popped in here on the chance that someone might mention my cousin, and sure enough they do! Anyway, please give him all your support!)

10. Thanks
Thanks, but expect him to be confused because my login name here is obviously not my real name.

11. Undecided here
But I am decided on the fact that I will not support Ed in the primary. He would not support Al Gore in 2000 and that is something I cannot get out of my mind as we are just entering the second 4 years of the current misadministration.

13. I can't wait until the debates
so the candidates can start setting themselves apart from one another.
